Project Description

“Inhabitat” has featured a fascinating project about two rental units. The rental properties were designed to give the area affordable and environmentally sustainable housing while still maintaining the look of the surrounding architecture. By using the empty space behind two existing Cali-style bungalows, the designers have created two houses with a reclaimed brick facade and filled with light.

The two properties are completely self-sustaining and designed to maximize thermal performance, with their energy supplied by a solar array on the roof, sustainable heat pump, and rainwater collection system.
